It would be nice to be able to stream audio or video to that Chromecast (using a tablet to control the stream) but it's not critical as long as the Smart TV can stream video directly from the media server.ĥ) I'd actually prefer to stream video directly to the Smart TV, since I'm guessing that would be faster/smoother than using the Chromecast as a "middle-man". I don't care what software is used to control the audio stream, as long as it runs on Android.Ĥ) I have a normal Chromecast (Video) connected to a Smart TV. I'd like to stream audio to it from the media server (so that I can listen to the parts of my collection which are not on Spotify). Still images would be nice too (for slideshows on the TV) but not a must-have.ģ) I have a Chromecast Audio connected to the upstairs stereo. Copying via wifi would be more flexible, since the media server could sit in any room but USB file transfer would be okay too.Ģ) I'd like the media server to serve both music files (FLAC and MP3) and video files (MKV, MP4, WMV) to the media server. I'd like to set up a media server which streams both audio and video to my Chromecast, Chromecast Audio, and Smart TV.ġ) I'd like to copy files from my PC (where I rip all my CDs and DVDs/blu-rays) to the media server using either wifi or USB.
